I just opened a show of about 40 of my reliefs at the Brewster Ladies Library, Main Street, Brewster, Mass. which will be on view during Library hours through May 30. The artist reception will be Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12 from 3 to 5 pm. A slide show of that show is here under "NEW".
I will also be giving the last demonstration-tour of the exhibition at the Cahoon at 11 am on Friday, May 17.
Hope to see you.
If you have not seen my reliefs in person, please come . Photos completely fail to convey their holographic essence, the holographic essence of reality, Relief images surpass the camera and demand direct observation of the art itself. Here are some of their photos:
Since 1970 I have been exploring the perceptual basis of art, What we see, how we see it, and how we interpret it. In 1975 I broke/fell through the flat surface of painting into relief, a new and unexplored visual landscape that exists between two and three dimensions, Where light and color are independent. Where I can find and create real illusions. Since 1996 I have concentrated on intaglio (negative) relief because it creates a dichotomy between image and surface, a new way of seeing.
If anyone wants to buy a relief, original or edition, contact Cross Rip Gallery (info above). Failing that email me. Richard Perry
