To explore the new medium of relief I have tried all of the traditional subjects of art, especially the nude. I have drawn the nude from life for almost 50 years. My nude reliefs are based on my drawings. Relief expands the flat surface of painting, allowing more information to be recorded on it. One object here is to see how much more of the figure can be portrayed in a relief than in a painting.
